Breathe
Breathe – Acrylic on paper, glued on wood; casting resin. 18″ x 24″.
One of my latest paintings. I have been experimenting with acrylics on paper and covering the painting with casting resin -it gives a glossy and slightly milky appearance to the painting while also blending in the brushstrokes, for a result that is very soft and ambiguous -you are not quite sure what you are looking at. I like the ambiguity, and the play of light on the portrait coming from the different layers (paint and casting resin).
